2013 Abendmusik Music Workshop: music that inspires

Gather with us on March 8th and 9th for the third annual Abendmusik Music Workshop with inspirational educational offerings for conductors, organists, church musicians, and singers of all ages, including a Children's Choir Festival led by UNL's Rhonda Fuelberth, and a Youth Choir Festival conducted by Cleveland composer Anne Wilson. Other clinicians include St. Olaf College's Christopher Aspaas, Nashville's Wilma Jensen, Southern Methodist University's Michael Hawn, and Abendmusik's own Jeremy Bankson and Tom Trenney. Weekend performances include a concert by René Clausen's celebrated Concordia Choir from Moorhead, Minnesota, and a unique and spectacular Pipedreams Live organ concert featuring organists Wilma Jensen, Christopher Marks, Tom Trenney and Anne Wilson, along with two choirs, an organ trio, a piano concerto, and an accordion.

Children's choirs (grades 3 through 5) from the region are invited to gather in Lincoln's First-Plymouth Church on Saturday, March 9 for the third annual Abendmusik Children's Choir Festival. We welcome special guest conductor Rhonda Fuelberth, celebrated educator and conductor from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, to guide our young singers. The children will learn four pieces with their home choirs in advance of our festival day, then the singers assemble on Festival Day to rehearse with Dr. Fuelberth, culminating in a midday concert. for more information.

We welcome special guest conductor Anne Wilson, nationally-known conductor, teacher, composer, pianist, and organist, to guide our young singers. The children will learn four pieces with their home choirs in advance of our festival day, then the singers assemble on Festival Day to rehearse with Anne Wilson, culminating in a midday concert.
